A dessert recipe that will keep you cool this 4th of July

Looking for a sweet treat this 4th of July that will cool your taste buds?  We asked our staff here at Business Consumer Alliance for recipes and our very own, Laura Hanson, from our Customer Service department was eager to share this recipe for a cookie salad.  You can use any of your favorite cookies for this recipe, but she prefers the fudge-striped shortbread cookies.  No matter what you use, we're sure this recipe will keep you coming back for more!

Cookie Salad Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 pacakage instant vanilla pudding mix (5.1 ounces)
  • 1 carton frozen whipped topping, thawed (12 ounces)
  • 2 cans mandarin oranges, drained (11 ounces each)
  • 1 package fudge-striped shortbread cookies, crushed
Instructions:
 
1. In a bowl, whisk the buttermilk and pudding mix. Let stand for 2 minutes.
2. Fold in oranges. Cover and refrigerate until serving.
3. Just before serving, add crushed cookies and stir until cookies are incorporated.
